9/22 to 9/26 Weekly Update

9/22/2025

There are 13 more instructional days left in the 1st quarter. Please be sure you are checking Infinite Campus to monitor your students' grades.
There will be Parent-Teacher Conferences that you can set up on Thursday, October 9th. Please reach out to your students' teachers if you would like to come speak with them.
6th and 7th Grade NC Check-ins will take place on October 6th and 8th.
Please remember to turn in any fall festival donations to the front office or your students' homeroom teacher.

9/15 to 9/19 Weekly Update

Please remember that Friday, 9/19, is a teacher workday and there is no school for students.
Please reference the letter Dr. Blackwell sent last week regarding 6-8 MAP Testing. We will be administering NC Check-ins for grades 6-8 and not administering MAP tests.

Dr. Blackwell would like to share with our community an important resource for charter school parents, offered by the North Carolina Coalition for Charter Schools. The resource is a monthly parent newsletter called CharterBeat, which aims to gently engage parents who value school choice and want to stay informed about charter issues. It shares policy updates, provides facts, figures, and stories that may be of interest to you.

To date, nearly 800 North Carolina parents and charter school stakeholders have signed up to receive CharterBeat. If you would like to receive CharterBeat, you can find the parent sign-up form here or at the link below:

9/8 to 9/12 Weekly Update

At this past week's blood drive, 43 units of blood were collected. Thank you to the Neuse Community and our leaders, Preeti Patel, Abby Creech, and Liz McGinnis, for their hard work and preparation!
Progress reports were made available to students and parents on Friday. Parents, if you cannot get access to Infinite Campus, please contact the front office for assistance.
Please remember that Friday, 9/19, is a workday for teachers.
Please continue to reinforce with your children the importance of no cell phones, smart watches, or AirPods during the school day.

The blood drive will take place on Thursday, September 4th in the main gym from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. You can sign up online at this link here.
Parents, please remember and reinforce to your child that we are cell phone and smart watch-free.
Progress Reports go out this Friday 9/5. Please make sure you are able to access Infinite Campus to see your child's current grades. If you are unable to see their grades, please contact the front office.

Seniors, please do not forget to sign up for senior portraits next Wednesday. Please use this link to go book an appointment. If you do not wish to pay for any portraits, simply select the "yearbook" option.

Cougar Camp

We are excited to invite your child to our Cougar Camps on Tuesday, August 5th!
6th Grade: 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM
* Drop off at 8:45 AM in the 6-7 carpool next to the spirit rocks by the student parking lot, pick up same location at 11:00 AM.
9th Grade: 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM
* Drop off at 12:45 PM in the 8-12 carpool next to the tall pine trees by the student parking lot, pick up same location at 3:00 PM.
**We will be meeting in the High School/Middle School Commons.
This special event is designed to help incoming 6th and 9th-grade students become familiar with Upper Academy life. During Cougar Camp, students will:

Learn about school expectations
Tour the campus
Meet their teachers
Discover sports and club opportunities
Reconnect with old friends and make new ones

It’s a fantastic opportunity for students to get oriented and feel confident before the first day of school.
