Neuse Charter School is a free, K-12 public charter school. The only criteria to enter our enrollment lottery is that you live in North Carolina. Neuse Charter School is the only locally operated, non-profit public K-12 charter school in Johnston County. Students are admitted in a lottery system and applications are currently being accepted for the 24-25 school year.
Founded in 2006 by a group of Johnston County parents who wanted a school of choice, Neuse Charter was the first charter school in our county. We are in our 17th year of operation and have about 900 students enrolled.
