I am an Exceptional Children's Teacher and High School Athletic Director and am in my second year at Neuse Charter. I graduated from Smithfield Selma High School, before completing undergraduate studies at UNC-W. I attended graduate school at UNC-Chapel Hill (but am still a Duke fan). Through the years, I have completed coursework at ECU, Barton, NC Wesleyan and NCSU. My wife, Peggy, is an EC Teacher at Riverwood MS. I have two children-Lindsay, a senior at Methodist Univ. and Dawson, a sophomore at NCS. I was employed at Dorothea Dix Hospital, South Campus Community School, Riverwood MS, and Corinth Holder HS prior to my stop at NCS
I am currently the Middle School Athletic Director and this is my 3rd year at Neuse. My Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education with a concentration in Athletic Training is from East Carolina University, and I earned my Masters of Education (Curriculum and Instruction) from Averett University. Along with my degrees, I am a Certified Athletic Trainer (NATA), Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA), CPR/First Aid Certified, Bigger Faster Stronger (BFS) Strength Coach, and I am working toward the Athletic Administration Certification. This year I will coach middle school volleyball, and MS & HS spring track. During the school day, I teach high school physical education, weight lifting, advanced PE (plyometrics), and teams sports.
