10/9/2019 Neuse Charter THINKS PINKBy: Naeem Davis & Cate McLamb Every year Neuse Charter School raises awareness for breast cancer during the month of October by hosting THINK PINK games. These games are held by the High School Volleyball and Soccer teams. The teams each have their players wear pink jerseys and decorate the field and the gym in pink to put an emphasis on the importance of breast cancer awareness. The Neuse Charter Varsity Soccer team won their game against rival Princeton High School 4-1. “We worked really hard and made some mistakes but managed to come together as a team in the end” said Center back Trey Flach. The boys move on to 2-4 in the conference, currently placed 4th overall. Neuse Today would like to congratulate the soccer team on this achievement! The Neuse Charter JV and Varsity volleyball teams both won their THINK PINK games on Tuesday, October 8th. The girls wore pink laces and ribbons to help support the Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
First up was Junior Varsity game, and with lots of grit and determination, the JV team took the win in two sets. Setter Olivia Sheppard said, "With hard work and determination comes success, and that's what we displayed on the court." Next up came the Varsity game. The Varsity team won in 3 sets, and team manager Rachel said, "I think it went pretty good." Neuse Today would like to congratulate our Lady Cougars on their ongoing perseverance! |
