Hello NCS Lower Academy Families,
I hope this message finds you well! So many wonderful things have been happening in the Lower Academy, and I am proud of the hard work our students continue to show each day. Students in grades 3–5 have done an excellent job this week filling out their agendas and taking responsibility for keeping track of their assignments. If you have not had a chance to read the message that was sent regarding student agendas and the late work policy, please take a few minutes to review it. You can find the message in your Infinite Campus inbox. Each afternoon, many of us greet our children with the same question: “How was your day?” And, if your house is anything like mine, the answer is often a quick, “Fine!” I recently came across a great article that provides some helpful ideas for starting more meaningful conversations with your child after school. Asking different questions can give students an opportunity to share more about what they learned, what made them laugh, what challenged them, and the friendships and experiences that shaped their day. I encourage you to take a look at the article and try a few of the questions with your child. Those simple conversations at the end of the school day are a wonderful way to stay connected to what is happening in their lives at school. Thank you for your continued partnership and support of our Lower Academy students. We appreciate all that you do at home to reinforce the habits and skills that help our students grow and succeed!
